Lochearnhead
2028
As a District we have visited Hertfordshire owned Scout centre Lochearnhead in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park every 4-5 years and we have just started planning for 2028.

The station has it's own website you can explore here.

Bishop's Stortford district takes around 70-80 Young people aged 12+ (Scouts and Explorers) up to the station for a range of activities, from kayaking to mountaineering, mountain biking and bushcraft.

On the right are pictures from previous district camps, taking part in activities we hope to do once again - but we need adult volunteers to help!

Outdoor activity leaders, drivers, cooks, leaders and much more create the amazing week away for the young people - if you are interested, please fill out the adult volunteer interest form.
Mountaineering
Lochearnhead sits in an amazing value surrounded by mountains, including a number of Munros (Mountains over 900m) - at camp groups get the opportunity to venture into the hills, explore, learn some skills and hopefully see some amazing views.

Kayaking and Canoeing
We take the opportunity to go on a paddling adventure with the Scouts, venturing across lochs, exploring islands many don't get to see and paddle down rivers to historic castles, having hot chocolate and learning about the unique flora and fauna whilst playing games and learning to paddle.

Mountain Biking and Bushcraft
On this overnight adventure the Scouts cycle through the Mountains before arriving next to Loch Venachar before building shelters, practicing some bushcraft skills and cooking your dinner. You then get to sleep under the stars. The next day you'll work as a team to cook breakfast and prepare lunch and in the afternoon enjoy paddleboarding on the Loch before returning to the station.
